4 Products to Fight Frizzy Hair

I have good news and bad news. The good news is that it’s festival season. The bad news is that’s its also rainy season and in some places, humid season, which means that your hair is likely to suffer. As a girl with naturally curly hair that has the tendency to frizz up, the rain and humidity has not been nice to my strands over the years. When I was younger, I used to straighten my hair every single day, and believe me when I tell you that the gross weather was even less friendly to my hair then. Luckily for you, I’ve had to research and test a million different products for frizzy hair. In trying so many different products, I’ve experienced a lot of duds, but I have found a few Holy Grail products that I’m confident in sharing with our readers! It’s about time we all have a fabulous hair day every day, regardless of the season or weather, amiright? Give one (or more) of these four affordable frizz-fighting products a try.

IGK Laid-Back Defrizz and Anti-Static Spray

IGK is my latest favorite hair care and styling company. It was created by a group of hair stylists from New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami and each product is inspired by and caters to the needs of their inhabitants. The Laid-Back Defrizz and Anti-Static Spray is inspired by Miami, and if anyone knows how to protect their hair against rain and humidity, it’s South Floridians. This spray is best used on damp hair to prevent and smooth frizz. This product can also be used on dry hair to eliminate static . I love a good multi-benefit product!

Moroccan Oil Frizz Control

Moroccan Oil is formulated to suit all hair types, which means that it won’t weigh down your hair like other frizz eliminating products have the tendency to do. Also, it smells amazing. And the Frizz Control spray is specifically formulated with weather-resistant ingredients. Apply the product by spritzing 3-5 sprays onto damp hair holding the product about 10 inches away from your hair. Comb through your hair to evenly disperse the product and style your hair as usual.

Hask Hair Keratin Protein Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner

Hask Hair is one of my all-time favorite hair care companies. I’ve tried every single one of their products and have never been disappointed. This specific keratin collection contains hydrolyzed keratin that is formulated to reduce frizz and create a shield against humidity. It’s rare to find a shampoo and conditioner combination that is as effective in reducing frizz as a serum or oil is, but this collection totally is (and if you need a little extra frizz protection, Hask carries an anti-frizz oil as well). All of Hask’s products are free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol, and artificial colors, all of which can cause breakage, ultimately leading to frizzy hair.

John Freida Frizz Ease Hair Serum

John Frieda now has an entire collection dedicated to eliminating frizz, but the first product I fell in love with from the collection is the Frizz Ease Hair Serum. This product should be applied post shampoo and conditioner on towel-dried hair. Only apply a dime-sized amount of the serum into the palm of your hands and work the product throughout your hair, focusing on the ends and avoiding the roots. A little goes a long way and it’s always better to apply less and add more product if desired than to look like a wet dog before you even head outside. I also love to apply a tiny bit of this product to the top of my head to smooth any flyaway’s after my hair has been styled. If you have super thin hair, this product may be a little heavy for you, but for $10, there’s no harm in testing it out for yourself.
