Our Favs in Celebrity Athletic Fashion

Isn’t working out more exciting when you have something cute to wear? The athleisure trend popped up a few years ago and has been going strong ever since. By creating pieces that are functional for exercise but wearable for everyday life, being inspired and prepared to workout has become even easier. Celebs have always had a huge impact on the fashion industry and have become a mainstay in the athletic fashion space as well through creating collections of their own. Here are a few of our celebrity athletic fashion line picks.

EleVen

by Venus Williams

If there’s anyone I’d trust to make the most amazing athletic wear, it would be Venus Williams, the four-time winner of Wimbledon, two-time winner of the US Open, and the first African American woman to reach #1 on the WTA singles rankings. She knows her way around the tennis court and definitely knows what it takes to create great athletic fashion wear because she has to wear it every day. EleVen was created by Venus and aims to be fashion-forward and celebrate self-expression and individuality.

MPG Sport

Julianne Hough Collection

Julianne Hough, well-known for her career as an actress and appearances on Dancing With The Stars (she won the show twice and later went on to become a judge), curated a collection of athletic clothing with MPG Sport, made to transition from the gym to wherever else the day may take you.

FINALLY it feels like FALL!!! 🍁🍂🍂 It was super hot, high 80’s and sunny, when I first got to Birmingham, and now it’s dropped down to the low 60’s…. and I LOVE it! I absolutely LOVE fall fashion, but being on set and in the hair and makeup trailers for hours at ungodly hours of the morning, I want to first and foremost be comfortable. So…. that’s why I wanted to create pieces for my @mpgsport collection that were cozy, fashion forward and practical! I’m layered up in the Harmony bodysuit and Mila down bomber jacket from my fall #mpgbyjules collection in this photo! I feel like I put “real clothes” on to go to work, haha – we all have those days of grey on grey on grey sweats all day, yet also still super comfortable! Go check out the 🔗 in my bio for all my cute fall pieces! 💋 📷: @brianbowensmith

Caelum

by Brooke Burke

Another Dancing With The Stars alum (one-time winner and later host) Brooke Burke-Charvet created her activewear line Caelum (which stands for “create, active, evolve, live, uplift, and motivate”) to be a luxe, minimalist athletic fashion brand that can transition from the gym to your girls’ night out through the use of fabrics that are both beautiful and functional.

Fenty Puma

by Rihanna

When my personal style icon came out with a collection with Puma, I swear my heart stopped. In 2015, Rihanna launched her first sneaker with Puma and sold out within three hours of the pre-sale. Rihanna then expanded to clothing, with pieces featured in New York Fashion Week. Since then, Rihanna has continued to drop collections that push the boundaries of athletic fashion and keep us all wanting more.

Touché LA x

Morgan Stewart

Rich Kids of Beverly Hills reality show star-turned sportswear designer Morgan Stewart launched her first collection with Touché LA and has continued to build and expand on her collections since. Morgan frequently complained about exercising on the show, which makes her so relatable, because who really loves working out? (Definitely not me.) The Touché LA x Morgan Stewart styles are simple, sleek, and extremely wearable. Morgan wants to further expand into size inclusivity as her next steps with the brand.

Jessica Biel for Gaiam

Jessica Biel has recently become the Gaiam brand ambassador and has signed on to create a signature apparel collection for fall 2018. Jessica was a gymnast in her younger years and later transitioned into yoga for a lower impact workout. She now practices yoga every other day. Her collection with Gaiam takes inspiration from the runway for pieces that go from the gym to school pickup, and straight to dinner. Her goal was to create expensive-looking pieces that are budget-friendly (and has done just that).

Last-Minute Celebrity Halloween Costumes 2018

We can’t all totally slay Halloween like Heidi Klum does, but you can still gather inspiration from celebrities and throw together a killer last-minute costume that won’t break the bank or require a ton of effort (all puns intended). Here are some of our favorite celebrity Halloween costumes.

Beyoncé as Barbie

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Beyoncé (@beyonce) on

You can never go wrong with a classic Barbie costume. To copy Beyoncé’s Barbie look, simply pull your hair into a tight and high updo, throw on your favorite girly outfit, put on a bold lip (preferably hot pink or red), and accessorize with your best earrings and sunglass combo! If you have a little extra time, grab the biggest box you can find and deck it out with everything pink and Barbie-esque and hop inside!

Kate Upton as Sandy

View this post on Instagram

#Repost @justinverlander with @repostapp ・・・ #happyhalloween everyone!! From Sandy and Danny.

A post shared by Kate Upton (@kateupton) on

A classic couples costume that just about anyone can pull off is Danny and Sandy from Grease. To get the Sandy look, make your hair as big and curly as possible, throw on a red lip, and pull out your sexiest, figure-hugging, all-black outfit and you’re good to go. If your man isn’t totally game for a full-on Halloween costume, Danny is the perfect option because all he needs is a black-on-black outfit and a leather jacket!

Vanessa Hudgens as a Skeleton

Heidi Klum is known as the queen of Halloween, but Vanessa Hudgens is a close second (her Instagram has been a Halloween tribute all month long)! Take a cue from Vanessa and try your hand at skeleton makeup. All you need is black and white face paint, or even light foundation and a black eyeliner if you’re in a pinch.

Martha Hunt as Elvira in Scarface

Another super easy costume to throw together last minute is Elvira from Scarface. Martha Hunt wore this costume and looked absolutely amazing, and you can too with a sexy white dress, red lipstick, and glittery earrings.

Jenna Dewan as a Unicorn

Probably the easiest costume idea of our entire Halloween roundup – the unicorn! To achieve the unicorn look all you need is a horn – hello, Amazon prime – lots of pink glittery makeup, and a high, slicked back ponytail. The best part about the unicorn look is that the colors and options are limitless – go wild!

Irina Shayk as a Cat

Irina Shayk is undoubtedly the most beautiful kitty we’ve ever seen and you can copy her look with just a few items you likely already have. You’ll need cat ears and black eyeliner (for the perfect cat eye plus whiskers and a kitty nose).

Lauren Conrad as Cruella Deville

6 Stunning Glamping Sites Around the World

There are few things I dislike more in this world than dirt, bugs, half-cooked food, and the fear of a bear attack, so as you can imagine, going camping has never been at the top of my bucket list. That is until I was introduced to the world of glamping. Yup, glamping, as in camping glamorously, which sounds like an exponentially better experience, in my opinion.

Glamping combines the outdoorsy feeling of camping with the experience of a hotel so you can bask in nature without missing out on your fav reality shows on E! Here are some of the best glamping sites in the world.

Treebones Resort

Big Sur, California

Treebones Resort is located in South Big Sur and has a perfect view of the Pacific Ocean, with several yurts, oceanfront campsites, and even a stunning little spot created from tree branches by Big Sur-based artist Jayson Fann. The spaces have comfortable beds, hot and cold running water, and indoor and outdoor seating. The resort also features a pool and hot tub, a restaurant with organic, locally grown food and a sushi bar. Hamburgers and hot dogs no more!

Camp Kalahari

Botswana, Africa

Camp Kalahari is located in the Kalahari Desert in Africa and is one of three campsites on one million acres of a private wildlife reserve. With only 11 tents available, Camp Kalahari is the perfect place to have a relaxing stay while also adventuring and taking in the sights and sounds of African Wildlife. The camp features canvas tents, ensuite bathrooms, and open-air showers. There’s also a common library, living and dining area, and swimming pool. You’ll commonly spot brown hyenas, zebras, cheetahs, and more.

Our Favorite Celebrity No-Makeup Selfies

Check out these babes for some natural, no-makeup inspiration and a reminder that true beauty has nothing to do with fake lashes or the perfect contour (although, we love that look, too)!

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

A post shared by Rosie HW (@rosiehw) on

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley just might be one of the most beautiful human beings to ever grace this earth. Between her big, beautiful lips and her stunning bone structure, she totally doesn’t need any makeup to enhance what she’s already got. Rosie posted a stunning makeup-less photo of herself in support of the Elephant Crisis Fund.

Zendaya

A post shared by Zendaya (@zendaya) on

Zendaya posted a stunning makeup-free selfie wearing a plain white t-shirt. Seriously? Who looks that beautiful undone? She captioned the photo, “Yes for my white shirt being the perfect light bounce,” although we’re sure she’d still look amazing, even without that amazing lighting.

Cardi B

Cardi B is known for her incredible self-love, so it’s no surprise the rapper often shares makeup-less photos on her Instagram feed. Just a few short days after welcoming her baby girl, Kulture Kiari Cephus, Cardi posted a gorgeous barefaced photo with her boo, Offset, at a doctor’s appointment. Although she always looks beautiful, she’s totally got that special new mama glow!

Chrissy Teigen

Speaking of that glow, Chrissy Teigen absolutely has it! Chrissy and husband John Legend welcomed their second child, baby boy Miles Theodore Stephens, to the world in May. Chrissy shared an adorable makeup-less photo with new baby Miles and her daughter, Luna, enjoying a day in the sand. Chrissy captioned the photo, “guess we’re really doing this kid thing!” Ugh – she’s funny AND gorgeous.

Sara Sampaio

A post shared by Sara Sampaio (@sarasampaio) on

Victoria’s Secret Angel and all-around bombshell Sara Sampaio often rocks the barefaced look – in fact, even when she has her makeup done, she often opts for a more natural look (except when she wears her signature red lip)! Sara’s big lips and bold brows perfectly frame her face. It would almost be a shame to cover all of that up.

Lindsay Lohan

A post shared by Lindsay Lohan (@lindsaylohan) on

Lindsay Lohan has always been a proponent of freckles and hers are often on full display in her makeup-free Instagram pictures when she’s not rocking her go-to old-Hollywood glam look. Lindsay looked especially fresh-faced in a recent selfie at her beach house in Mykonos.

Kylie Jenner

A post shared by Kylie (@kyliejenner) on

While we’re on the topic of freckles, Kylie Jenner might just have the cutest ones ever. Also a new mom, Kylie has been opting for a more natural look as of late and she still looks as beautiful as ever – even more so, if that’s humanly possible. In June, Kylie shared a stunning no-makeup selfie featuring a peek of her baby girl, Stormi.

Must-Have Beach Bags for the Summer

Summer is here and if you’re not spending every day at the beach, you’re doing it wrong. Check out our roundup of beach bags below, pack your favorite with all of your summer essentials, find the nearest body of water (even if that body of water is a kiddie pool in your backyard), and live your best life.

the silicone beach bag

One of the best things about silicone beach bags is they’re completely waterproof. What’s even better than that is silicone beach bags actually repel sand. Silicone as a material is super durable and is wipe-able and washable so you’re not tracking sand all over your car. These silicone beach bags are super affordable and come in several different neon colors.

the sneaky beach bag

Perhaps my favorite beach bag of the bunch, PortoVino has a collection of bags you can take from the office (sans alcohol) to the beach (obviously with alcohol). With the PortoVino bag, you can conceal and carry two bottles of wine (or 1.5 L of margaritas, if you’re like me) in its insulated pocket. The bag even comes with a pouring spout so you can pour your alcoholic beverage straight from it. If you’re not into breaking the law and drinking in public, the bag is fully usable to carry other boring things, like your sunscreen and your beach towel!

the clear beach bag

A post shared by 360designbox (@360_design_box) on

There’s nothing worse than digging through your beach bag to find your fav pair of sunnies when there’s sand all over your hands, the sun is in your eyes, and they’re buried somewhere in the bottom — that’s where clear beach bags come in handy. These clear beach bags come with a full zipper closure so all of your belongings are safe and sound. This bag works especially well if you’re attending a summer event that requires a bag check as security can see right inside it.

the cooler beach bag

A post shared by Satchel. (@satchelsavannah) on

If you plan on having a complete beach day, you’re going to need some refreshments, and that’s where a beach bag with a cooler compartment comes in handy (unless you like paying $14 for beach french fries). With a cooler compartment, you can pack an entire picnic with food and drink without anything overheating or going bad in the sun. We found this cooler bag, and the amazing thing about it is the cooler compartment is completely separated so you don’t have to worry about your sunscreen mixing with your sandwich.

the super cute beach bag

If you’re more concerned with fashion over function (guilty), you might want to pick up a beach bag that can easily be transitioned from the beach to the bar on those long summer days that quickly and unexpectedly turn into long summer nights. My favorite type of beach bag to transition from day to night is a straw beach bag with embroidery, pom poms, or tassels. These bags look perfect and can actually help to dress up a simple beach-y outfit.

2018 Swimwear Styles for Every Body

The greatest season of all is upon us – SUMMER! This means that it’s time to pull out your bikini collection and add some new swimsuits to your stash. Your swimsuit options are not limited to simple triangle bikinis and tie-side bottoms which aren’t always the best for every shape and size. Swimwear has evolved and now you can purchase several different styles that will flatter and accentuate your body type and best suit your personal style at the same time. Here’s a round-up of our favorite swimsuit styles of the summer!

The One-Piece

Beach style has evolved greatly from the teeny-bikini trend that used to occupy the waters. At that time the only people you’d see in a one-piece swimsuit were pregnant women and older ladies. Thankfully that’s all changed- so you no longer need to worry about skipping out on Taco Tuesday before heading to the beach to keep from bloating in your string bikini.

The Thong Bikini

We’re all about feeling confident in your body, this summer and always. If you’re feeling like showing off your booty, there’s a thong bikini for that!

The Bandeau Bikini

Perfect for tanning, this swimsuit keeps the dreaded tan lines at bay and will also flatter those with smaller chests. Another effect of the bandeau bikini is actually minimizing the chest, so it will even work for larger-chested women (just be careful of the dreaded nip slip).

The Halter Bikini

You may think that buying bikinis as a woman with a bigger bust would be super challenging, but the truth is that it becomes a lot easier when you know what will flatter your body the most and will keep ‘the girls’ in place. Halter bikinis are perfect for large-busted women as they tie around the neck and help to lift and support your breasts while the extra coverage keeps you feeling carefree and comfortable.

The Push Up Bikini

Where we’d rather be, in the Double Band Envy Push Up ☀ #vodaswim

A post shared by Voda Swim (@vodaswim) on

This sexy style speaks for itself and needs no explanation! You can never go wrong with a good push up bikini- whether you’re small or large-chested, or somewhere in between!

The High-Waisted Bikini

High-waisted pieces have recently become super popular, and bikinis are no exception. The great thing about these bikinis is that they suit and flatter just about every body type.

The ‘High Cut’ Swimsuit

Possibly the trendiest swimsuit of this summer is the Baywatch-esque swimsuits with high cut legs (insert Pamela Anderson slow-mo’ running down the beach visual). This style comes in one-piece and two-piece options and works to elongate your legs and slim your waist… who wouldn’t want that??

The Tan-Through Swimsuit

Hello Friday ! @alexacollins

A post shared by blankkini tan through swimwear (@blankkini) on

Did you know that there are swimsuits that you can tan through?? While I’m definitely all about protecting yourself from the harmful rays of the sun, I’m also about getting a little summer glow sans tan lines. These swimsuits are made with a fabric that basically works like a medium level SPF sunblock so you can achieve a seamless tan all summer long!

The Tankini

The tankini is the best option for those who like a little more coverage in their swimsuit options but might love the freedom of wearing two separate pieces. Those with longer torsos will also benefit from rocking a tankini because if you have a long torso and have ever worn a one-piece bikini, you know the struggle – no explanation necessary.

12 Fashion Hacks for Ladies to Fix Your Wardrobe Disasters

Looking amazing isn’t always as easy as it seems, between makeup stains, vintage smell, and nip slips. There’s no shame in needing a little extra help keeping everything looking right. Avoid a fashion faux pas by adopting some of the tips and tricks collected from fashion it girls all over the world. Here are 12 fashion hacks all ladies should know how to accomplish.

1. To Hold Your Chest Up in a Revealing Dress or Top

Duct tape is a fashionista’s best-kept secret. Even Kim Kardashian uses this hack! Apply a large strip of duct tape starting under one of your breasts. Then, pull the tape up around your neck, and attach the other end to your other breast, making sure to lift before securing the tape. This will give you the ultimate push-up look, it’s cheap to pull off, duct tape is incredibly secure, and it’s easy to hide under even the most revealing outfit.

2. To Remove Deodorant Stains From Clothing

We love wearing dark colors up top. What we don’t love is the crusty white residue left over from deodorant. Sometimes, these crumbs will stick around even after a cycle in the washing machine. To remove them, rub the deodorant stain out with a pair of jeans or anything else that’s denim. The rough material of the jeans will take the deodorant mark out of your shirt, so it’ll look good as new.

3. To Remove Yellow Sweat Stains From Clothing

On the flipside, white shirts are an excellent choice too! But what happens if, on an especially hot or stressful day, those nasty sweat stains just won’t come out of your top? Fashion hacks to the rescue! Simply spritz the affected area with a little bit of lemon juice before throwing the piece in the washing machine. The lemon juice will pull the stain right out of your clothing.

4. To Reduce That “Old” Smell From Vintage Pieces

If you’ve ever bought an amazing vintage piece or you’ve scoured through your mom’s favorite clothes from back in the day, you know the horrible smell of old clothing. No washing machine stands a chance against that stench, but there is a solution. Simply mix one part water and one part vodka, and spray the mixture over your clothing. And don’t worry — the smell is totally neutral.)

5. To Loosen Tight Shoes

This has happened to me so many times when ordering shoes online. Before you return them, though, try this easy fashion trick. To stretch your shoes, throw on an extra pair of socks or two, put your feet in your shoes, and blast them with a hair dryer to loosen the material. Wait until they cool before removing them so they can stretch to your foot.

Another method is to fill plastic bags with water, put them in your shoes, and place them in the freezer until the water freezes, stretching your shoes in the process. This works because water expands when it freezes. Pretty cool, right?

6. To Tame a Pesky Collar

Nothing makes an otherwise crisp and sophisticated shirt look sloppy and unprofessional. This one is a quick fix, though. Apply some double-sided tape to the inside of the collar of your shirt and press down against the shirt to keep everything in place.

7. To Reduce Thigh Chafing

Beyonce’s stylist, Zerina Akers, recently revealed her tip to reducing thigh chafing is to apply a little baby powder to your hands and pat it between your thighs. You’ll only need a small amount, so no need to worry about excess powder getting everywhere. So simple and inexpensive!

8. To Reduce the Smell of Sweaty Shoes

While keeping the outside of your shoes clean is fairly straightforward, the inside of your shoes is another story entirely. To combat gross odors, one of our go-to fashion hacks is to cover the inside of our shoes in baking soda to prevent smelly feet. Similarly, you can apply a light dusting of baking soda to your feet before slipping them into your shoes. Baby powder will also work. Fine powders like these help to soak up the sweat and neutralize odors.

Another idea is to place tea bags in your shoes overnight to absorb the smell. Repeat as necessary.

9. To Stop a Run in Your Tights

This is the worst! Once you get a run, it seems like there’s no stopping it. What’s a gal to do, other than toss the tights in the garbage? Fortunately, there are a couple of fashion hacks for this one. First, you can spray your tights with hairspray to prevent runs and holes in them. This will keep the material from fraying or unraveling.

One other thing you can do is dab a very small amount of clear nail polish onto the ends of the runs in your tights. It will dry hard and prevent any further tearing. While it may not be a permanent solution — most of us don’t want to walk around with nail polish on our tights and nylons, especially if it’s in an obvious area – it will, at the very least, stop it from getting worse.

10. To Remove Makeup From Clothing

Who knew removing makeup from your clothing is as easy as removing makeup from your face? Lightly rub a makeup-removing wipe against a stain on your clothes as soon as the stain happens to prevent it from ruining your pieces permanently.

11. To Hide Your Bra Straps in a Racerback Top

Pesky bra straps are enough to throw off even the cutest top. Get them out of the way and totally hidden using nothing but a paper clip. Weave the bra straps into the clip and voila — straps no more! The paper clip is surprisingly comfortable, too. (If you want a legit bra strap clip, you can find them here on Amazon.)

12. To Prevent Blisters From Your Shoes

We love this hack from Who What Wear. To prevent blisters on your feet, rub clear gel deodorant on them, let them dry, and you’re good to go. The deodorant provides both a barrier and just enough lubrication to keep your skin protected.

Spring 2018 Makeup: the ‘It’ Look and How to Achieve It

Spring is here, and a new season brings new trends. Trends aren’t just limited to fashion, either. There are also new beauty trends popping up all the time, even if it doesn’t feel like it, since most of us wear the same makeup every day, whether we’re going to the beach or attending a gala (guilty). Alas, spring makeup is alive and well.

Surprisingly, most makeup trends are inspired by the designers and runway shows of fashion month. These trends are then perpetuated by celebrities and influencers, and the next thing you know, everyone is rocking the same elements that create an “it” look.

There were many beauty looks seen on the runway this past SS/2018 fashion month, including glitter eyeliner (hello, early 2000s!), pastel eyeshadows, bold under-eye liner, and even yellow eyeshadow — something we didn’t think anyone could wear without looking insane until we saw it with our own eyes.

While I could teach you how to do one of these bold spring makeup looks, I think it’s best to collect the most common element from the shows and create a look that’s wearable day-to-day without your significant other/co-workers/friends thinking you’ve gone mad.

Let’s call this spring it look… glow-n-glitter.

The product breakdown — Bali Body BB Cream, e.l.f Dewy Drops, NYX Wonder Stick, Essence Sun Club Shimmer Bronzer, Glossier Boy Brow, NYX Pigments, L’Oreal Lash Paradise, Gigi Hadid x Maybelline Taura Lipstick, Fenty Killawatt Trophy Wife Highlight.

Here’s how to achieve it this spring makeup look.

  1. Start by creating the perfect glowing base. To do so, mix BaliBody BB Cream (I like this one because it has some bronzer in it) and a few drops of e.l.f Dewy Drops (one of my fav makeup products ever).
  2. To add some dimension to your face, grab your favorite contour product — I like the NYX Wonder Stick in the shade Universal when I’m doing a glowy look. Contour your cheekbones, jawline, and the upper portion of your forehead, and blend until you can’t blend anymore.
  3. To add more of a glow, pick up a shimmer bronzer and apply it all over, focusing mostly on the areas you just contoured.
  4. The days of the perfect Instagram brow are long over, and fluffy, natural looking eyebrows are in. Brush your eyebrows up using your go-to tinted eyebrow mascara. Boy Brow by Glossier is a favorite of many beauty bloggers and celebs.
  5. Apply some glitter to your eyelids. NYX has beautiful pigments in a variety of different colors. For this look, stick to neutrals like gold, champagne, or peach. You may need an eyeshadow primer to prevent fallout.
  6. Top off your glitter eye look with the best mascara ever: L’Oreal Lash Paradise. According to a commercial I saw, they sell this mascara once every six seconds. I’ve used this almost every day since it came out and I’m still impressed by it. It makes your eyelashes look fanned and fluffy and is very buildable, making it the perfect one-coat wonder, or six-coat stunner. (I just made up that little verse, but really, it’s that good.)
  7. For the lips, stick to something nude and neutral, and top with your favorite glitter gloss. Gigi Hadid’s Maybelline lipsticks don’t disappoint, and the Taura shade is the perfect cool-toned pink nude. I also still have a thing for Victoria’s Secret lip glosses. I swear, they’re the shiniest.
  8. Lastly, set it all off with a highlighter. While normally I’d tell you to pick whatever you like/already have, I highly recommend Fenty Beauty Killawatt Highlighter in the shade Trophy Wife, because everyone is wearing it, and it really takes the glow-n-glitter trend to the next level. The yellow tone makes it a little bolder than a regular highlighter and people will just know it’s the on-trend Fenty product.
  9. To complete the entire look, set with a dewy setting spray. If you have oily skin, I’d skip the dewy spray and apply a matte spray instead. I love the Hard Candy setting sprays for this. (I spray the brightening dewy one all over my body in the summer months.)
