Festive Outfits for Every Holiday Occasion

Choosing Holiday outfits can be hard, especially when you have a million different events to attend. Today, we’ve curated 5 different Holiday dresses, all under $100, that can be worn for just about any occasion. And we even paired them with accessories, shoes, and outerwear options, because we’re officially your Holiday fairy godmothers. You’re welcome.

Date Night

dress3

DRESS | COAT | RED LIPSTICK | FLOWER CLUTCH | KNIT BOOTS

Nothing says ‘date night’ like a sexy red velvet number. This red velvet bodycon dress is currently available at BooHoo and is super affordable at only $16 dollars. At that price, you might as well buy the dress in all three colours – black and navy being the other two available. Pairing a sexy red dress with light grey accessories and outerwear helps to up the romance of the look without looking too typical and boring (like red would look with black or white). If we’ve learned anything from Rihanna over the years, it’s that a red dress paired with a red lip is always a good idea (Google Rihanna 2013 Grammy’s if you have no idea what I’m talking about). Rihanna even goes one step further with the red-on-red look and also adds a matching nail polish. This dress is a great way to add red to your holiday wardrobe without looking too cliché.

Meeting the Family

dress4

DRESS | WATCH | OVER THE KNEE BOOTS | POUCH

While wearing a turtleneck to meet your bae’s parents may seem a little over the top, the thigh-high boots in this look help to keep the look sexy and fun. While this dress is a little  more expensive than the one above, it’s still super affordable at $71.99 (currently on sale). The best part about this knit dress is that you can continue to wear it all winter by simply switching up shoes, accessories, and outerwear. It would also look great paired with a flat bootie if thigh-high boots aren’t your vibe. For this look, I chose to pair the dress with grey/beige thigh-highs, a muted purple pouch, and a silver boyfriend watch.

New Years Eve

dress5

DRESS | CLUTCH | MOTORCYCLE JACKET | RING | STRAPPY HEELS

I’m all for wearing as many sequins as humanly possible on New Year’s Eve, which is why I chose this sequined black dress from Indie XO (it looks super similar to the one that both Paris Hilton and Kendall Jenner wore to their 21st birthday parties). This dress comes in three colours – gold, silver, and black (pictured above). Between the 3 colours, I’d always choose the black so that your dress doesn’t look too copy-cat. Plus, the black dress is more versatile because, again, you can switch up the look with different-coloured accessories, outerwear, and shoes. For this New Year’s Eve look, I paired the sequined dress with all black accessories. Everyone will be wearing super flashy outfits, so it’s better to set yourself apart by wearing an all black number with ton of sequins, and a classic jacket and shoe. This look is subdued-chic but definitely still festive enough to wear for the biggest night of the year.

Holiday Dinner

dress1

DRESS | THIGH HIGH BOOTS | FUR CHOKER | WINE PHONE CASE | VELVET CLUTCH

The most important criteria for a Holiday dinner dress is that it has to be flowy enough to hide the inevitable post-dinner food baby. For this look, I opted for a loose fitting dress to cover said food baby and to also add an element of comfort, because who wants to sit around in a skin-tight bandage dress all night? The off the shoulder element of this dress keeps the look sexy and cool. This gold dress is available online at River Island and only costs $70. I paired this dress with red wine-coloured accessories to make this look even more Holiday ready! The thigh-high boots look cute and they’re also practical because they help to keep your legs warm. Also – can we talk about how cute the choker and phone case are? NEED.

Mimosa Brunch

dress2

DRESS | FUR COAT | STATEMENT NECKLACE | OVERSIZED SUNNIES | BOOTIES

I was trying to decide which direction to go for a brunch theme: should it be a casual family brunch or a chic brunch with friends at the Ivy? The common denominator for both brunch ideas is that you’ll probably be hungover, so I themed this look around that truth. This sassy t-shirt dress is available at BooHoo and only costs $20. It’s available in nude, grey, and black (but I’m always partial to black because it’s easier to play around with). To dress up the look and add some flair, I paired it with an emerald green fur coat, some oversized sunnies, a cheetah print bootie, and a gold statement necklace.
