Unless you’ve been living under a rock recently, you’re probably aware of the devastation left behind by Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, and possibly Hurricane Jose in the very near future. With countless fatalities, injuries, and people left homeless, many of us are looking on feeling helpless, not sure how we can even make a dent in the tragedy thousands of people are living right now.
In large part, the best we can do is offer financial support to help these families rebuild their lives; and a number of beauty brands are giving back after an uglier side of Mother Nature tore through parts of the United States and beyond. By giving away proceeds, free products, monetary donations, and simply spreading the word online, they’ve brought extra support and attention to the victims of the hurricanes in a time when they need it most.
1. Lime Crime
Through yesterday, Lime Crime donated 100% of sales from their Beet It matte lipstick to the Red Cross to help victims of Hurricane Harvey. Flawless matte lip color and donating for a good cause? We call that a win.
2. Winky Lux
Winky Lux’s Pippy lipstick is named after their Frenchie, Pippy Lou. Donations went to help animals in need at the Houston Humane Society.
3. Cora
Cora’s organic tampons have become a trusted alternative for women looking to ditch dangerous chemicals. Now, they’ve handed out thousands of tampons for free, because periods don’t stop for anything. Impressive? Yes.
4. Morphe Brushes
You read that right: $100,000. The generosity and selflessness demonstrated by Morphe is nothing short of inspiring and uplifting.
5. Farouk Systems
Farouk Systems has made numerous stops throughout the Houston area to give away free supplies and products. Their donations have undoubtedly been a lifesaver for many.
6. Sara Happ
Dubbed the Lip Expert, Sara Happ Inc. used the power of a plumper pout to help bring relief to victims.
7. Drunk Elephant
Not only are they donating to a number of organizations, but they’re encouraging and making it easier for their customers and followers to do the same. It’s the power of social media!
Remember that every bit helps; and if you’re able to spare even just a few dollars, somebody somewhere will be so happy you did.
