Festival Fashion For Every Budget

Festival season is upon us! Whether you’re ballin’ on a budget or you have some extra cash to spend, we’ve rounded up five different save or splurge looks based around five 2018 festival trends: fringe, mesh, denim on denim, monochromatic, and wearable lingerie. Check out some of our favorite festival fashion this year.

Fringe

Fringe is a fashion trend that was popular a few years ago and is just now coming back around. If you’re feeling super committed to this festival fashion trend, go all out with a fringe top. If you’re a little less bold, go for a fringe purse or fringe shoes, so you can play around with the trend before making it the primary focus of your outfit. Because fringe can be such a bold trend, I like to pair it with casual accessories like aviators, motorcycle boots, and simple crossbody bags.

Fishnet and Mesh

There are all sorts of risqué fashion trends to participate in at festivals this season, fishnet/mesh being one of my favorites because it feels like you’re covered up without actually being covered up (if you know what I’m saying). In the Save outfit option, I included a mesh bodysuit a little more on the revealing side, and for the Splurge look, I went for something more modest to show both options for the trend.

Denim on Denim

Denim on denim has been around since Justin and Britney (ugh, weren’t those the days?), and it doesn’t look like the trend is coming to an end any time soon. The key to wearing denim on denim is obviously to match your denims — if you’re wearing a three-piece outfit like the ones I’ve styled, I like to have at least two pieces matching. Example: the top and bottoms match, and the outerwear can be darker or lighter denim. The great thing is a lot of major retailers use the same color dyes for their denims, so you’re likely to find several pieces that work together.  Again, with a bold trend, keep the accessories simple. I love white and denim (as you can see).

Monochromatic

Monochromatic looks have been made popular by the likes of Rihanna, Bella and Gigi Hadid, and Kim Kardashian, and now you can recreate this festival fashion look with any budget using our outfit idea templates for festival season. This look could be duplicated with any color you choose, so get creative and rock what you love!

Lingerie

Wearable lingerie has been one of my favorite fashion trends for a while now. While it may seem crazy to wear bustiers and lace bodysuits out, wearing the trend isn’t actually as daunting as it seems. As long as you pair the lingerie with a trend that contrasts (baggy denim, loose cargo pants, etc.), the outfit looks ready for the street (rather than the bedroom) — perfect for festival fashion!
